Neakasa Riko Receives IFA 2026 Innovation Award Recognition as M9 Joins Berlin Showcase

BERLIN, Sept. 7, 2026 — Neakasa is showcasing two different approaches to smarter pet care at IFA 2026: the Riko Fresh-Made Wet Meal Feeder, recognised as an IFA 2026 Innovation Award Honoree in the Best in Smart Home category, and the M9 Automatic cat litter box. Together, the products bring automated meal preparation and litter maintenance to the brand’s showcase at Messe Berlin.

Taking place from 4–8 September, IFA 2026 provides an opportunity for European consumers, retailers, distributors and media to explore Neakasa’s latest developments. At Hall 2.2, Booth H2.2-116, visitors can experience Riko and M9 firsthand and learn how their designs address different needs within the daily pet care routine.

Riko Recognised for Its Fresh-Made Approach to Automated Feeding

Riko’s recognition at the IFA Innovation Awards 2026 marks a milestone for Neakasa’s approach to automated feeding. Designed to prepare moisture-rich meals at feeding time, Riko combines dry food storage, grinding and rehydration in a single device.

Unlike feeders that dispense dry kibble or refrigerate prepared wet food, Riko stores compatible freeze-dried food in a sealed 3-litre container. At a scheduled mealtime, it grinds a portion and adds room-temperature water from its 2.4-litre tank, turning the dry ingredients into a freshly rehydrated meal.

An adjustable water-to-food ratio of 1:1–1:5 allows owners to customise meal consistency, while portion settings from 1–20 g support flexible feeding routines. Through the Neakasa app, users can schedule meals, review feeding records and receive device alerts, with BLE and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connectivity supporting setup and connected control.

Riko is designed specifically for compatible freeze-dried food. It does not dispense canned or pouch wet food, refrigerate prepared meals or heat water. Its fresh-made approach keeps food dry until preparation, offering an alternative for households that already use freeze-dried diets or want to incorporate rehydrated meals into their cat’s routine.

M9 Combines Automated Cleaning with a Design Focused on Safety and Comfort

Alongside Riko, Neakasa is presenting M9, an open-top self-cleaning cat litter box designed to make routine litter maintenance more convenient while providing cats with an accessible space.

The M9 features a 96-litre Open-View Cabin, offering a spacious interior and a wider field of view. Its open-top layout gives cats room to enter, turn and dig, with a design that may appeal to larger cats and those hesitant to use enclosed litter boxes.

A low entry of approximately 25.9 cm (10.2 inches) supports easier access, while automated cleaning separates waste from the remaining litter to reduce manual scooping.

For odour and moisture management, the PureTower Odour Control System combines activated carbon with a desiccant layer. Detachable components also make regular cleaning and maintenance easier, supporting continued care of the litter box between automated cleaning cycles.

Visitors to the Neakasa booth can explore M9’s structure and features and speak with the team about its approach to everyday litter care.

Riko and M9 address two recurring responsibilities in cat ownership: preparing meals and maintaining a clean litter area.
